Hi Guys,

This maybe a long shot but i am looking for a second section of a redington cps 9ft 5# if anyone has a broken one sitting in the back cupboard just gathering dust.

Graham, first it's Fred.

Sage/Reddington are most responsive if they can be. If they can't/don't stock a given 'old rod' they will usually offer you a 'replacement' out of their current line of 'sticks.'

Blew up a one hander Reddington a couple years back and the nice lady told me they couldn't repair the rod, 'What would you like for a replacement?'

As in ANY rod they currently had in stock/distributed. That part was a bummer (even if a good thing) as I really loved that rod. As I suspect you do with the one in question.

Sorry Fred i just copied the name.

No the problem here is i am not the orginal owner of the rod so i can't see this happening for me.

They don't make the cps anymore and the cps is better than the cpx they now do. This all started as i got the rod with a broken eye and decided to try and replace it myself this is wear it all went wrong as i have now managed to remove some of the blank colour. So what i need to do is find a colour that will match and then re whip the eye back on and hey presto i will have the rod again.

But rather than me trying to repair i thought i would ask on the forum incase anyone had a snapped one lying in there cupboard.

Bummer they don't make the rod anymore, but I'd drop them a e-mail and see if they still have one sitting in a warehouse. You never know?

I have done that and awaiting a reply from them. Fingers crossed and hopfully they have got one. The joys of buying second hand rods i guess.

good customer service i have sent greys 2 emails about a busted rod with no reply and a phone call and told someone would call me back still waiting

Graham I've just snapped mine tonight how did you get on with them I am also second user and love the rod ,any contact info .
