Default Flytying Dyes & Seals Fur

I am looking for veniards flytying dyes, Venpol & natural seals fur and white deer hair.

If you have an abundance of the above, or have some that you're finished with I would be interested,
Cash waiting,
John

Hi Chap, you'll obtain the dyes here:
http://www.tomcsaville.com/index.php...ge=shop.browse

You do not need to use venpol, as a good washing detergent will do the job just as good.
Use Acetic Acid 40% rather than "house vinegar" as the dye will take and set much better , which is easily obtained from your local chemist at around £5.00 per 500ml bottle.
Paul

PS Allow to air-dry on newspaper, constantly separating the now tight fur as this will help to separate the sawdust which you'll find is mixed in with your natural bought seals fur. It's originally dried out on the aforementioned.Do not know why.

Paul, thanks for the advice, i appreciate the tips on setting the colour and drying the material, i should get better results when i start.
Now all i have to do is replicate some sooty olive, goldenolive & fiery brown seals fur :-)

You'll find that Veniard's dyes in the colours you require can be temperamental.
A little rather than too much, and keep the temperature as high as you can, without burning out the material, as when it comes in contact with the hot metal of the pot, It'll stick and slightly frazzle. You lose the, what I call " the pubic curl".
Be careful with their F.Brown Dye, as for Golden Olive, there's got to be around 6 different Irish shades that I know of.
All the best, as you've certainly picked some seriously frustrating colours to start with.
Paul

I have a fair bit of natural seals fur, it's from a fairly young cub so not too dark. What colour dyes are you after.
