Just bought a new "old stock" 4 1/4" salmon version of this reel. Looking at the design and construction of this makes me think its a re-badged J W Youngs reel. I know that Youngs made reels for the likes of Shakespeare and Bruce & Walker.
Was also wondering if anyone knows a source for spare spools for this model. Not bothered if new or S/H. Looked on the internet but nothing there.
Any help appreciated.

im sure there are afew different names on this reel , but the fitment is different and they arent interchangeable , so it will be a diawa spool you will need

There were loads of these "rebadged" reels in the 80s. This being one of them.
Spools were interchangeable I do believe. Nearest equivalent I can think off is the Bruce & Walker Range of the same era. These I believe were same as your Osprey. But it was a long time ago & the old memory dims so do not quote me on that one. A clue nothing more. The Shakespeare Beulite was very similar but not sure if same, Certainly from the same factory as the tooling on these were "peas in a pod" with just a few cosmetic difference.
A nice middle of the road reel if like you say in good nick.
