Default Hardy palakona rod 7ft cane

Hi

Just wondering if anyone knows if his is a good rod?

It is a split cane 3 piece with a spare tip. It has "THE DE-LUXE" with "palakona reg trademark H36862" written just below that.

Also- would it be a nice rod to use now compared to modern cane rods?

Thank you

Thanks. How much do you think it is worth since it is brand new?

The number makes it 1961.
7 foot may just make it appeal to someone. Are you sure it's not been shortened? A quick look in catalogues shows 8' as shortest.

As for "would it be a nice rod to use" - put a reel on it and try it you may be pleasantly surprised.
(I've a 9' De Lux and find it a bit stiff for me)

Thanks enigma. The thing is- the ros is about 250miles away across a stretch of water so I cant try it out lol

Last thing- would it be heavier than a 7ft cane rod of today?

As for it being shortened, I assume not as it has never been used

I'd guess it'd be about 5 ozs.
Photos would help

Was just on ebay:

How much does anyone think it is worth to pay up to if I were to offer him a price?

just checked. Doesn't look like 7ft lol I hadn't had a detailed look at the photos. Asked the seller and he said it was 7ft but when you look at the size of the reel seat/handle compared to the blank, combined with the fact it is a 3piece lets me know i'm an idiot

Forget this thread please as its not what i'm after!

Thanks anyway
