Default Hardy Graphite De-Lux - Which Reel?

Hi all

I am trying to find the perfect reel for my rod. I have a Hardy graphite de-lux 6/7 weight rod and would like to match it with the reel that would have been recomended at the time.

Cheers

Hi Nik. The reel that they were pushing at the time was the Golden Prince. The anodising was the same as the antique gold of the D/L reel seat. I'd go for a 7/8 as the next size down was the 5/6 which is too small for a 9 or 10' Graphite Deluxe IMO.

A nice reel over all and arguably one of the first mid arbour reels although the over all diameter was only about 3 5/8ths or thereabouts.

A St John would sit nicely with that rod. Or a Marquis #8 possibly? An eight size is really needed, as stated the capacity of the Marquis or any Hardy reel is not that great relative to the line size recommended by Hardy
