Default Help ID old fly rod

Hi, I'm new to this site, so this is my 1st try at posting a question.

I have an old fly rod that I would like to try and find some info about. What I know is that it was given to my grandfather shortly after WWII.
It is a 4 piece rod, 9 1/2 ft, has a cloth bag inside a metal tube. The end cap of the tube is marked with a "Shakespeare" logo. There is a badly worn paper label on the tube with the number 1338B. Other than that I can find no markings anywhere else on the rod or case. It appears that the rod was refinished at some time, as all the wrappings and ferrules are in excellent condition.

Anyone have any insight as to this rod, I would be happy to hear from you.
Thanks in advance.

Hi Fb, Heres a link to all the vintage shakespeare rods..

https://docs.google.com/viewer?url=h...iques/rods.pdf

1338B comes up as SKP, Deluxe light. fly rod (Circa 1931)

or,
SKP, Ideal rod. (Circa 1928) FLY

Hope this helps..

Thanks, it will be a start to find more about this rod.
According to my grandfather, this rod was given to him by the photographer who flew on the "Enola Gay" over Hiroshima. So the year of manufacture would be about right.
