Default Hardy Princess

Hi there,

I'm Levente from Hungary and I have a problem.I have a Hardy Princess reel from the sixties. It was fitted with plastic regulator cam.Is it enough strong?I have an other Princess fitted with metal(nickel silver) reg cam.I think it is better than plastic.I would like to use this reel during my lifetime(I'm 38 now).
Does anybody have an experience in this topic?
A lot of thanks for your help!

Regards,

Levente

Hi, I have a Princess. Mine has metal cams. Somewhere I have seen a kit for sale that basically replaces all the internals. It was all metal. I prob saw it on ebay. It was about a year ago though. I'll have a look and let you know if I find it again.

Regards Chris...

Default Hardy Princess Regulator

I do not understand this thread at all.
A Hardy Princess does not have a metal or plastic regulator cam but a knurled screw that applies pressure to the pawl springs via a spring holder.
Hardy Marquis reels have a metal cam and Viscount reels have a plastic cam.
