Default The attic stash.

hi there

i have 3 rods that belonged to my Grandpa, been in the loft since 1981 and not used for a good few years prior to that.

Edgar Seely Octopus, it's pretty and I liked it, but it's too long, heavy and wobbly for an absolute beginner. Was suggested I hang it on a wall, which is a lovely idea, but unfortunately I live in a shoebox!

Milbro Milbrolite 9ft and 13ft.

All 3 in original bags and in pretty good nick.

Anyone know anything about them, is it worth trying to learn the art of Ebay or are they just tatt?

Cheers
V

perhaps it is worth contacting one of the Auction Houses - usually there is and advert in the T&S. They will probably tell you what they are really worth

Oliver Kite pictured with his Milbrolite.

The rod would be of some value to a collector. I certainly wouldn't put it on e-Bay without 'history'.

Great picture of Oliver kite, looks a bit posed!but sums up the simplicity of fly fishing-rod,reel net and creel.
Worth looking on Utube, there are some recently posted films on there under Kites country. They take you back to a simpler time, wonderfull to watch.
On the one film he pours cider into the river,to start the season off,im sure a couple of drips would have been plenty! i hate waste!
