Does anyone know when Ogden Smiths closed their St James (London) shop?

Thank you
Cheers

Sure I saw a 1953 catalogue but nothing much after that. I will check some of my old books to see if any adverts & which time they stopped. Wont be exact but may give you some idea.
Tight Lines

PS Read an article where a chap visits " The Posh London store of Ogden Smith in 1962
Quote:
In 1962, as a pathetically poor teenage student, I once slipped self-consciously into Ogden Smiths’ posh London shop, just for a longing gaze or two at the latest tackle. It was all far too expensive for my empty pockets, but remarkably, I left with something for nothing – the 1962 Tight Lines catalogue from ABU printed in English: now a very rare creature.

Highlander, thanks.

I've got a copy of the 1953 catalogue but have not been able to find anything after that date. The '62 reference is interesting.

Rhodie, cheers

Brian
