Thumbs up Old Allcocks reel.

I recently obtained an Allcocks Easicast reel from Ebay..Does anybody know about these reels, ie what type of fishing were they designed for, it's a smooth running centre pin with a bail arm brake mech??

Can be used for bait casting, trotting or fly fishing.
Same principle as Hardy's Silex or Dingley's Rolo.
A quick google of any of these will tell you lots.

Hardy Bros ltd reel

Check the specs! Very similar facilities but one is wooden and branded Hardy, the other metal and made by Allcock's.

Richard,

The Easicast has an additional braking system to prevent overcasts (and birdsnests). Look at the paragraph "Control" in the instructions.
