Default The Erne by the Rev Newland

Just wondering does anyone have an original copy of The Erne by the Rev Newland. I am keen to know how much they are selling for. I know they are as rare as Rockin Horse Poo, so surely they are selling for big money.
regards
Richard

An ABEBooksearch throws up some cheap paperback versions but the hard back do look pricey.

$2500 for a copy of the original!!! Thats steep. Would someone be prepared to pay such a price for said book. I can get my hands on an original but i dont think its worth that much. What do you think?

Default Erne and The Rev Newland

There was a copy in the Linenhall Library in Belfast. I have read it. Someone tore out the first sheet of the painting of the Erne. A bloody disgrace! It is a lovely book and the drawings are magnificent.

Default Too much

I was offered an original in good condition at a book fair about two years ago for £1600 but beyond my pocket. I've read it on-line and while the description of the pools was interesting, much of it - like many titles from its era - was heavy going.

wow, that's one costly book. please pardon my ignorance, but what is so good about this book that you need to remortgage your house to an original copy?
