Crack Automatic Fly Reel

I have a Crack 800 automatic fly reel. Unique in that it mounts horizontally on the rod. Clockwork innards so it can be wound up or wound by pulling off line. Trouble is it must weigh half a pound or more

so seriously unbalances most rods - probably even a double hander.
Has anyone any information on this reel?
