Default Framed Fishing Flies

Hi there, I was hoping someone would be able to give me some infomation about a collection of framed flies that have recently come into my possession. They range from British salmon to dry, wet, and sea trout, and appear to be by 'Shirley Collen'. I am looking to eventually sell them, so any info or advice you might have will be greatly appreciated.

Here is an example of one of the frames.

Very interesting. I can't help you but I may be a buyer.

Thanks for your interest. The pics are of the largest frame I have. I also have 3 medium frames displaying 12 flies each, and 3 small frames displaying 3 flies each.

Have to say the salmon flies are some of the poorest I have seen and bear only a passing reseblence to the original patterns. Obviously tied in the nether regions of Africa probably. Trout flies might be better but too small to really see. Wouldn't thing they are of much value. Sorry.

Your comment brought a smile to my face.

I don't think the trout and sea trout flies are much better. Many appear to be based more on what North Americans think British Isles [sic.] flies should be.

Have to agree with last two posters, these commercially produced fly frames have been around for some time now. Of little interest to people that know, sorry but there you go.

The wording at the bottom of the board say's it all. "of the British Isles" as in tied by someone who's not or never been a resident & trying to sell something to another non-resident.

A few years ago I noticed a frame containing about 8 flies tied by Richard Walker. The flies included the Great Red Sedge, Daddy Longlegs, Sweeny Todd, Chomper and several mayfly patterns.

The asking price was ca £800.00
