First let me say Hello to everyone and apologise for my first post being a question .

I have got a Hardy Bros. split cane Palakona ( The Perfection ) 2 pce rod with the number 246936 on the rod and the Number 45693 A ( yes the A comes after the number ) on the butt .

If I ignore the 'A' it is a very old rod , but which number is the correct one ?

Anybody help please ?

Go for the number on the butt is my advice.

Follow the link here to date the rod, it should also give you the model name. This has worked for me, on dating and identfying several rods where the writing has come off. Good luck with it.

246936 is Hardy's Registration No. for the word "Palakona", the other # will give you the date of manufacture.
