Post 10ft 3piece 'The Aberdeen'

I was kindly given this 10ft 3 piece split cane fly rod recently and would appreciate any info.

On the sleeve it says 'Scottie' and manufactured by J Sharpe Ltd of Aberdeen. Model is 'The Aberdeen'

Here's a couple of pictures

Would I need to insure this rod, is it valuable or are they relatively common

Thanks

Have a look at the web site www.feathersfliesandphantoms.co.uk go to the tackle makers page and click on Sharpes - you'll get the history of the company there..

Does anyone have any other information on this rod??

I too have one of these rods, only mine seems to be 9ft 6in rather than 10ft, and am at a loss as to what type of rod it is (trout / sea trout / river / lake) and also what size line it would take?

Cheers
Gary
