Default Hardy Bros Split Cane Fly Rod

Hi All

Just wondering if anybody could help me, i have an old Hardy Bros split cane fly rod. Just trying to find out if it is worth anything or not. It says on the rod "Neo Game Glen Cassley". Its obviously made by Hardy and it is a 7s weight. Never used it myself and it belonged to my Grandad. Any help would be much appreciated

Cheers Tony

Hi,
All I know is that it should be a 10' 2 piece.
Probably says "Neo Cane" not 'Neo Game'
Made in 1966 & 67 only (some patent or copyright dispute arose)

Sorry can't be more helpful

Brian

Hi.

Yes it's a Neo Cane, I have a Glen Loy, most of the Neo Cane's start with the nam "Glen".

It's suposed to be of a lower quality to the Palakona rods, but to me it just looks a cheaper reel seat, still a nice rod.

Hi Chaps

Yes your right sorry i should of stated that it is a 10ft two piece. Dont think my grandad used it a great deal, it looks in reasonable condition for its age. See wot you mean about the reel seat sage. Any ideas roughly as to how much it was and maybe worth now? Might even give it a run out if i can drag myself to a stillwater, could be interesting.

Cheers Tony

I doubt its worth anything, will take it off your hands if you like, i will even concider sending postage cost if that helps.

Hi.

Don't really know the value to be honest, I was given mine by a friend

Worth giving it a go I would of thought.

Postage cost is currently £200 LOL.. looks like i will have to resort to some other means of fund raising for a new reel.
