They have just launched the mark 3. Perhaps you could pimp it up with some cast farther stripes and an extra wide arbour reel

Top sea trout rod and still sought after for that purpose.

Best rod I've owned.
Collectable rather than vintage I hope?

After recommendations of this rod from Cothi and John Grey, I considered buying one of these from Brian (Cumbrian) last year. Didn't buy it as I couldn't get on with the action.

As there was a little bit of (unfounded as it turned out) doubt over exactly what model Brian's was (due to differences between his rod and those owned by Cothi and John) I contacted Orvis.

FYI, this is the information they gave as there are 3 different versions.

Western Premium: metal case and cocbolo wood insert on real seat. i also think there is some engraving on the butt cap.

Western Silver Label: less expensive cordura case and anodised black metal saltwater reel seat

Western Clearwater: plastic case and plain metal reel seat.

Default Orvis Western

Hi job67

Regarding my Western, you sent me a PM with all the details of your correspondence with Orvis, but unfortunately I deleted the wrong archive file and lost it all. Do you by any chance still have the details? I can't remember which version I have.

Pics are still HERE

I still have it and its still available if anyone is interested.

Brian
