Default Allcocks of Redditch Leaders?

Hi all

I bought some fly tying materials off ebay, and in the box were several leaders marked "Courier Brand", 1x with 3 droppers and made by "Allcocks of Redditch". All are complete still int he pack, there about 6 identical packets.

Now, I know Allcocks for centrepins etc, but does anyone know how old these are likely to be or anything about them? I will try and sort a photo later.

Thanks

Ian

Ian,

I would imagine that the leaders were made prior to 1965 or thereabouts as that was the year Allcocks were bought by Shakespeare. Within a very short time after that, the name Allcocks had disappeared from tackle made at the Redditch factory.

Thanks Dave, a friend suggested the same info.

I do not think they will be up to the job nowadays, but will keep them intact as a nice little keepsake.
