Default Dingley reels & Dingley history

Hi All,

I'm putting together a book for this year on Dingley reels. I'm particularly seeking Climax Reel paperwork, Dingley catalogs, Wm. Dingley ephemera, unusual Dingley info of any kind.

The book will be oriented toward photographs of reels. But beyond that I'm seeking hard data on Dingley history.

Any help, suggestions, materials would be appreciated. Comments here are fine, or email me directly at patrickgarner@mac.com

Ditto, a much more 'butch' sound than Hardys ever had.

I'll just add that I've had lots of dealings with Pat, above, and he's one of the 'good guys'.
I wish him every success with his book (and all your Dingleys will appreciate when it's published!)

Many thanks, Brian, for the thumbs up.

BTW, some Dingleys are almost too quiet, some too loud. Then again, some of these old classic reels have been worked on by who knows who, with pawls replaced, etc. So the sound we hear now may not be what the reel sounded like going out the door at the Dingley shop.

But as with my original request, please let me know if you have any unusual or interesting Dingley information. patrickgarner@mac.com

Thanks!

I'm helping Pat with some UK research for the book.

If there are any Alnwick area members I'd like to hear from them. I have a few questions about the town.

A bump, and a request for scans of any catalogue pages showing Dingley Reels.

As many of you know, Mr Dingley supplied reels to lots of dealers, and they were usually badged accordingly.

If anyone has any Tackle Dealers catalogues, from WW1 to the 50's, with what appear to be Dingley Reels, I'd be grateful if they could forward scans to the e mail addy above.

Contributors will be acknowledged.

We're also seeking information from anyone who owns a Dingley & Sons rod. Please contact either Brian or me (patrickgarner @ mac.com). Thanks.
