What do you need to know?


I'm sure someone here can put an accurate date to this, I guess, 80 year old Perfect.


The intense cleaning has removed some 'patina of age', a shame, this will have reduced it's potential value at auction.

Is it possible to retriev this numbers on the reel in some Hardy books and by means of this further information to obtain,because that is the first vintage reel that I have bought and I think its nice to nowe something more about the reel that I have.

There are some on this forum who would be able to date your reel accurately.

It won't be any older than my guestimate because of the duplicate check design. The 'curved' script indicates it is fairly old, the best design, later models had 'straight' script on the sideplate.
The numbers shown in the photos are of patent numbers not serial numbers. Do you have more, or the leatherette box that model sometimes came in?

Going by the handle and the foot I'd guess about 1930. It's pre-war for sure.
