Default Identify old rod

Hi I wonder if anyone can help,I have an old rod ,name on butt is G Bowness JNr of 33 bell yard ,Temple bar.The confusing part is that rubber butt protecter say's Hardy Brothers & rod bag is Hardy "To the king",Gold medal brand.
The butt is solid wood 2nd & 3rd piece is bamboo, 4th & 5th wood & 6th is a short tip.
I cannot workout how to include photo.

Hope someone can help

1838 to 1860 George Bowness Jnr traded at 33 Bell Yard, London.

Hardy started in 1872.... so the bag is not original, the rubber but cap would also be a later addition, also the pieces might just not all have been made at the same time... A heinz 57 of a rod perhaps, or just wrong bag and rubber cap. Having said that, rods of this era were sometimes made of several different types of wood, if they all fit then perahps just the bag/rubber cap are wrong, the original rubber cap/bag may have perished.

Where did it come from?

Hi Duncan thanks for the information,The rod & reel was given to my Father from an old house in Gloucestershire many years ago.

Duncan i'v just tried all the pieces and can make 3 different lengths of rod11,12 & 14 foot
