Test curve is normally used to describe Pike -Carp-spinning rods. rod action is the description of flyrods,
This is a fibreglass rod ,and it will probably have a through action or maybe ''jelly like''

First fly rod I ever had was an ABU far flyte 6/7 that would have been 1970 or 1971.

It had an action that was reminiscent of casting with a length of rubber hose pipe but It was my first proper fly rod and I loved it...

The other disadvantage I had was that my father who was a coarse angler bought me the stuff and the fly line was a strange affair that was like a braided nylon line that took its weight from the water it absorbed , However as you started to false cast it lost weight, I think it was called a kingfisher or the like, Goodness knows how I ever managed to learn to cast. Shortly afterwards I bought a PVC line.

Marky I dont seem to be able to see your pics, However the rod was a quite dark brown and the label and ABU badge I remember as having a shiny gold backing the rod had wire snakes. I think it had metal ferrules and the reel seat was like gold anodised. Hope that helps

Andy

The kingfisher line is a silk line, and was meant to be treated to make it float. and should have been hung up to dry after every trip(something I never did),At the time I also found it hard to cast(Milbro Trufly glass rod)

This line wasnt a silk line. It was made of braided nylon and the instructions were that the line should be stripped from the reel and allowed to take up moisture. Yes I know knigfisher lines are silk and wouldnt be sure that this was called a kingfisher all I remember was it was dreadful...
