Default Edgar Sealey & sons ltd "mayfly"

I posted up earlier that i have afew rods of various kinds which belonged to my grandfather. The first rod is brand new and has never been fished with . It has its original sleeve and tube . I'm not sure how old the rod is but it was bought for my grandads christmas 1 year and he died in the january and sadly never got to use the rod . I'm not sure when he died as i dont like talking to my dad about it .

I love this rod! it just hasnt got a story to tell , feels and smells so new .

Any ideas on age or any info on these rods ?

iv took afew pictures [ excuse the quality was with my phone ]

That is one gorgeous little rod Marky, you must get out and christen it.
Pictures are great, must be a decent mobile. ?

Marky, your Grandfather would want you to use it, it's a fishing rod.
Go out and catch a nice Grayling with it and break it's duck.
Then you'll have a story to tell us about.
How can you not be worthy, it's yours now, ENJOY.

Late 60's this rod I would say, AFTM line codings first really used to any great extent now. Nice rod in good condition, was it bought using cigarette coupons? (based upon the address label).
Not the most fasionable of rod makers, but a reasonable rod nonetheless, perhaps more suited to seatrout or large lake trouting. You might want to wrok before using, heavy in comparison to modern rods.
