Red face Hardy Reel Repairs

I posted a few weeks ago to see if anyone know where I could get a Hardy Husky converted from RHW to LHW. Someone suggested there was someone on the Sea Trout Forum. I send this reel to Watermole on that forum and he did the changeover. I also sent him a Uniqua which was in a bad way - spool jammed in, two holes drilled in back plate, seized up. He has restored this reel so it looks nice and is useable. The charges - £10 for inspection and basic work eg the Husky, then an extra £8 for all the work on the Uniqua (ie £18 total for that reel). I would really recommend this man if you need any work on old reels. I also understand that he builds cane rods.

Wink Hardy Husky Hand

Hi.

You probably have the answer to this simple problem right now however in case you haven't:

These reels were produced as ambidextrous to be altered by the user.

The line guard and the internal brake block are reversed, the brake block is suspended on a pin fulcrum the seating of which on the underside of the brake block is off centre; once swapped about you then have a reel of the opposite hand to that which you started work upon.

Simple as that.

Cheers.
