Default Shakespeare Superfly Fly Rod

Hi, my old Shakespeare turned out to be a Superfly, 2.70m, aftm 8 and it has the serial numder 1624.

Can anyone give any info re. the material used in this rod , original price, whether it was highly or poorly rated, what type of fishing it was specifically designed for i.e. Trout or Sea Trout?

Is it worth anything to collectors or is it just a tired old rod ?

Donald.

Donald, I suspect you are the possessor of a tired old rod with worn ferrules.

Rods generally realise less of a resale value than do reels .

Apart from a few classic cane rods, rods don't really retain any great value.

Carbon rods..even Sages etc. don't appreciate in value, they depreciate.
