Default Lamiglas

Hi all
I am a new member and wondered if anyone can help.
I have just acquired a Lamiglas 8' 6" #7-#8 fly rod model number GF102
I believe it to be early eighties manufacture but cannot find anything more on the net etc.
Anyone out there have any information. Is the rod worth keeping?

Thanks
Paul

Hi, & welcome to the forum. Lamiglas were one of the first carbon rod companies to import to the U.K. from the U.S. They were originally imported by Omri Thomas of Normark in S.Devon in around 1976/7. He imported mainly blanks that were either made up over here or sold to rod builders. He was also the importer of Cortland lines/Rapala & several other well known makers. I still have one of the original blanks I made into a rod, a 9'6" #7/8 a powerful tool if ever there was one. A mate of mine has a 7'6" #4/5 and a nicer casting rod for that length I would have difficulty naming !

If you like it and it does everything you want then fine, keep & enjoy it; if not there's always ebay.

Hi Arkle
Thanks for your detailed reply.
I have now tried the rod and although it performed well have decided to sell it.
Regards
Paul
