Question J. Bernard & Son History

Does anyone know about the history of this London fishing tackle firm? I have what looks to be an old display case filled with numerous boxes of flies from J. Bernard and Son Fishing Tackle. Since I live in Canada I have no frame of reference for this sort of thing.

Thanks
