Default Hardy St. George Latch problem

Hi
This is my first post on this forum, so I hope somebody can help.
I have a 3" Hardy St. George. The latch cover has 2 screws. I pulled the reel apart for cleaning, now cannot figure out how to get the latch lever, spring and cover back together.
The spool has 2 small studs, I have tried about 1 million combinations to try and put the thing back together. The latch is differnt to my other Hardy reels, Perfect & Angel.
If somebody could send me a picture of the lever and spring in place before fitting the latch cover that would be great.
I am not sure if part of the problem is a consiquence of the drought hitting Australia, in an effort to save water, I drink only beer!.
Cheers
Andrew

Aussie,
Try posting onto Clark's Classic Fly rod forum, there's a Classic Reel section with a lot of nuts with in-depth knowledge of Hardy Reels.

Cheers,
Steve

Thanks for the respose, I did try the other forum, but no luck, I have also emailed a couple of reel repairers in the US. I am sure there are plenty of these reels in circulation, but it is not something you normally dismantle when cleaning the reel.

Don't you guys sleep in Pommie Land?

Andrew,

You already posted onto Clark's? Interesting, someone posted regarding something similar with an ATH Traun, and there were loads of responses.
Has Hardy here given you any responses? The classics are still made here, they should have the knowledge and courtesy to provide the info.

Sleep? Haven;t done that for years, with 2 young kids!

Steve

If you do get your Hardy back together, next time stay away from that Aussie beer - it makes better use for taking the grease off your Hardys!

The best resource for practical Hardy history are their agents in British Columbia www.hardy.hardybc.com. Email John Mathers at jmathers@shaw.ca.

Doc
