Default Acquired old rod

I've just acquired this old rod from a customer of mine, she'd been having a garage clearout and was going to chuck it in the skip, it had belonged to her husband, I said I quite liked the look of it, so she said I could have it. It looks like an old fly rod, don't know if it's home made or manufactured as there doesn't seem to be any make or markings on it. I'ts made out of nicely marked cane and possibly greenheart, but i like the markings on the cane and that's what first caught my eye. I just wondered if the more knowledgeable members on here might be able to offer any information as to it's construction.

Thanks

mark

Looks like the middle section and top piece have been broken at some time Mark, and a greenheart fix has been done.

They are made with a bunsen burner.

I love those markings too.
Interestingly, I've got an old landing net handle that's very similar.[img][/img]
