Agree it a Intrepid, I Inherited a few from my father, one with spare spool nearly new others used, only problem they are for left handed persons and cannot be made to suit right handers - any offers?

They can! Take the spool off. Inside there are two pawls. One nearest the foot should be engaged if you wind using your left hand and the other disengaged. If you wind with your right hand then the one nearest the foot should be turned to disengage it and the other turned to engage it. The spring tension is adjusted by the knurled button that when tightened pulls the ends of the springs outwards thus increasing the pressure on the pawl.

Steve it might be the effect of the wide angle lens when close up.
