Default Can someone give me some insight into this antique fly fishing rod?

hey everyone,

New member here and I know absolutely nothing about fly fishing...so I'm coming to this community for help!

I have an Orvis "Impregnated" superlite spinning rod. 6ft long, 2 pc, and uses a #11 ferrule. I checked with the Orvis company and it was made by John Rosencrantz on July 8 1953 (theres a serial number on the rod they can look it up).
Condition - Looks pretty good to me!

I'm eventually going to try and sell this either on this website or on ebay and was hoping others could give me some rough price ranges, what fishermen want to know about the rod, and anything else important! Any insight is helpful and sorry to ask for so much on first visit.

Ha well lets just say this is more a fact finding mission then a sales advertisement.

I'm assuming from your post you don't think it's worth much of anything then?

Anyone else have any insight...general price range...is this a rare rod or common?

I have pictures of it too but I guess I'd have to PM them to someone.

Hi,

Do a search on ebay for Orvis impregnated rods for an idea on value. The fly rods will probably be worth more than spinning rods.

You could try contacting Greg Reynolds on the Classic Fly Rod Forum. He has a database of over 25,000 Orvis rods and would probably have a good idea of value.
