Default Fly Box Identification

I have just been given an alloy fly box (not in the best condition)with one side that opens with clips for flies and on other side is a hinged lid with a compartment for leaders I presume.
The small logo etched / stamped on the edge side is a diamond shape surrounding what appears to be a small fly, I don't think they are initials. It also has Made in England on the narrow closed edge.
Can anyone tell me what make this is please?

Hi
I dont think it's Wheatley but you may be correct although I have a few of those and all have the wheatley name on them. When you open the box both left and right side have clips with flies. But on the top of the box there is a seperate hinge which is not part of the main hinge and this opens to a shallow flat are where I assume the casts go. As I say the box isn't in great condition but identifying it will enable me to recognise others in the future.

Hi I need my eyes testing looking again it does appear to be RW in the diamond so it is a Wheatley. although there is no name on the box as with my others.
So thanks for your assistance and I learnt a little more today
Regards
Mike

Do a google search for "wheatleymuseum" and you'll learn a lot more. (done it for you)
Then Clive, [flyboxfan] the curator, will pop on here and educate us all.

Smile Re: Fly Box Identification

This seems to be an early Richard Wheatley trout cast box. The lozenge logo was in use from after 1906 to around 1928. The Made in England on the fillet came in around 1921 and stopped by 1928 when the Large made in England began to be used. Dating this box to the 1920's

This box was in production from 1910 ish when aluminium started to be commonly used until 1970's. A salmon box with larger clips was also produced as was a cast and leader box which had two empty sections.

If this doesn't fit the box then please post a picture and I will try again

Best wishes
Clive
