Question Allcocks Fly Boxes

I am looking for information again.

S. Allcock & Company Ltd of Redditch England sold two types of fly boxes over a period. The first had square corners and the second was an exact copy of a fly Box made by Richard Wheatley. I think that these were made by Wheatley's and "badged" for Allcocks to sell - I also think that the earlier boxes may also have been made (to order) by Wheatleys.

I want to record what was available for my book on Richard Wheatley and would be grateful if you could let me know what is in your collection or you are still using. These aluminium boxes seem to last for ever!!

Please let me know which type, what is inside the box and any logos or marks on the outside? If you wish to be mentioned in this section of the book please tell me what you would like to be mentioned under - your name or your forum name?

Very many thanks

Clive,

If you like, I'll email photos of the box I showed you at Redditch in November (or send you the box so you can photograph it yourself).

It's got normal corners, 85 clips, 5 7/8" x 3 5/8" x 3/4", and marked:

ALLCOCK & CO LT
REDDITCH ENGLAND

- on one side, and:

ENGLISH MANUFACTURE

- on the other.

You said it could come from the 1930's to the 1950s.

All the best for the New Year,

Doc
