Default Help required with some bits and bobs

We (Gardening Leave) have been donated some items from a chap whos father in law recently passed away. After speaking to the guy he said he was quite happy for us to sell off the items.

So, I need to know what they are worth (if anything) and I will then post them in the for sale section (bearing in mind they are being sold and the money is going to charity)

1st item is a Sharpes "Scottie" 3 piece fly rod, measures about 11' 6" and has a spare tip section. I'm guessing it's split cane (if someone can confirm from the pictures) and all sections are in great condition. Comes with a cloth bag.

2nd item is a Milbro spinning rod, I think it is fibreglass based on what is printed on it (Milbro Supra-Glass, Made in Scotland. F. 73S and 358) The rod is just over 7ft and in excellent condition. I'm not really into spinning but i really like the look of this rod. It is also the rod the father in law (of the guy that donated it) caught a 41lb Salmon back in the 60's (I can post a picture tomorrow of the Salmon)

Finally and what I think is really cool and wouldn't mind buying it myself is a Puma Fishermans Scale-Knife made by Puma-Werk of Solingen/Germany. It comes in it's original box and has instruction card. It's a 3 in one knife measure 6" closed, the blade is 3.5". The butt of the knife acts as a priest and is solid steel and heavy enough for salmon, then of course there is the knife and finally the 3rd part is it's acts as a scale (you hold the knife by the end of the cord and hang the fish on the knife part, the priest being weighted acts as a balance for when you weigh the fish.

Any help with valuiing these 3 items is greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance,
Tam

The Scottie Rod is more or less ruined as someone has varnished it. But the fishing knife is very interesting and you will find that as well as still being made there are collectors of Puma knives. The knife you have is for C&K not C&R the ball acts as a priest and then with the blade opened out fully you hold the leather strap up and use the knife as a balance.

I think the new Puma knives are made with the Balance scale in metric.making the Imperial ones more collectable.

Both rods have been varnished so I'm guessing they are worthless unless it's possible to strip and someone wants to buy them as a project? How much would the Scottie be worth if it hadn't been varnished?

How much is the knife worth?

From your photos the Scottie is the top of the range, Aberdeen. Sadly there is not a big demand for this length of rod.

Here, link, is todays version of your knife - 138 Euros - ebay may be your best bet
