Default 1951/52 Hardy L.R.H. the dry fly

I have a Hardy L.R.H. ' the dry fly' split cane rod - dated by Hardy's as been 1952/52 and wondered what kind of price i should be looking for. I was intending on restoring it but just havenmt been able to find the time

It isn't in imaculate condition, the bag is dirty and the zip is a little corroded as is the pop stud. One of the tips had a small lift - But i had it profesionally re-glued.

It is missing an eye on one of the tips aswell.

It would make a lovely projecty if someone had the time but I thinks it going to have to go to one of the auction sites.

Many thanks,

Dale

Hi Dale, what length is the rod and is it 2 or 3 piece? (8' 9"?)

You may see these for sale at dealers for 3 figure sums but they rarely achieve this (there are models which do, but not yours). As you say, nice winter project for someone.

Good luck
Brian

I used to have a 1954 9' version.

The thread caught my eye because I've had several 9' 6" Hardy L.R.H. No 2 Palakona spinning rods through my hands in the past. Great multiplier rods. I'm after a, slightly lighter, No 1 version if anyone has one or even knows of an example.

Hi Brian,

it the three piece 8'9" version, straight as a die but as you say not realy what people are after - never mind am sure some one on fleabay may be interested. If not can always use it to prop up the petunia's in the garden.

I did turn an old 10" scottie into an lovely course rod for chasing greyling under a loafer on the river Aire - with a Youngs 'pin its great fun!
