Question Chew

Hi Gents, glad to be back!! 5 weeks away seems like a long time without the banter of the Forum
Big question, we are fishing Chew on the 19th April, and have never been there before, any info on tactics, depths, flies and areas to fish(boat), would be greatly appreciated, many thanks in advance.

Default Killer Pattern For Chew

Bob

Try a bright yellow bodied fly tied on a size 18, with a tippet from the breast feather of the rare purple woodpecker and a throut hackle from the fibres on the wing feather of a "lesser spotted" reed warbler, not the common "more spotted" variety, nor the "more or less spotted" reed warbler. A rib is optional but not to close together as thats artificially weighted. Oh yeah and a glo brite No 4 head!

Apparently its the must have fly for Chew this season!!

If you have problems getting some glo brite No 4 give me a shout.

Give Bob Handford/Kim Lucas or Steve Taylor a call at the lodge a day or so before you go. At the moment it's "fishing its head off" so watch out for changes in the weather Or ring Steve Wedlake at Veal's on 0117 9260 790 (not Monday's) avoid lunchtimes though. John
