Default willington

visited willington today and had a fantastic 4hrs catching 17 fish mainly browns with some very nice rainbows to 3lb. fished a floating line with 14ft leader and a czech nymph just under the surface with a slow retrieve. there were loads of fish topping between the island and right side bank. spoke with mark who owns the water and said most people had been getting there bag limits ,so for some fantastic sport get down there and cast a line

Been to Willington today along with another forum member (havn't we Roy?!) despite a more than difficult wind, managed a few fish including a couple of nice Browns, one of around 3lb and this one below, a bit bigger, also two nice Rainbows of around 3-31/2lb each.

Enjoyed the day, great fighting fish in cyrstal clear water.

Gary...a pleasure to watch you take those Brownies and full credit to you for returning them.

As you know I struggled for three quite nice stockies. When is this ruddy wind going to drop??????

I had an evening at Willington earlier in the week. Didn't do as well as some of the other correspondents but did manage a rainbow and a nice brown in fantastic condition. I missed several takes to buzzers, I've put this down to rustiness as it was my first outing since October! Mark's latest input of fish has clearly livened the lake up, it looked stacked full. One of the other chaps fishing mentioned that he had caught well on small CDC's during the middle of the day.

went again yesterday, had nine and lost about four others, mostly on buzzer's but a couple on bloodworm. Five Browns inc a corker of around 5lb, all returned and four rainbows, three of which weighed 9.5lb in total. Really enjoyed it, best sport was early on before the sun got through.

The resident browns were on the buzzer yesterday. I had six corking fish, all over wintered, five of which were browns. Missed or lost the same again. Took a variety of black buzzers up to 10' down. The best fish was ~4lb and cleared the water three times during the scrap. All fish in A1 condition.

yes i did! .

Had nine in total, all Browns, had five quite quickly on the l/h side of the lake, 1st bay, there was a nice breeze and had em on buzzers just below the surface. Struggled a bit after that, but still managed another 4 and lost a few others from different spots, inc one on a dry late on.

Pleasent afternoon, not many other anglers about, Bonus!
