Default Linlithgow Loch

Hi folks

Our first outing of the season is at LL on Sunday - a few weeks earlier than normal. Has anyone fished it yet ? Is it going to be mainly lures this early in the season or will they be on the buzzers/nymphs already?

As usual, any advice greatly appreciated

John

I just hope it's not a case of 'you should have been here last week'

Just a quick update on yesterday's outing. Didn't look too promising with a strong baltic easterly and bright sunshine but we managed to get a few fish. Nobody in our club got tuned in to a successful method and it was mainly ones and twos that were caught - mainly to lures in town bay. My boat partner and I didn't get a touch there so ended up drifting, or rather anchor dragging, from the island off the palace right into the west shore. We picked up a few fish on flies varying from bibio snatchers to orange blobs fished on fast intermedaites.
The qality of the fish they've stocked with this year is excellent. All our fish had big tails and fought really hard and the average weight ......... 3 1/2lb

We thought we had been lucky but the average for the whole club was the same with around 10 fish over 4lb. I ended with 4 for 14.5, the best bag was 5 for 16.2

All in all a great day given the weather and time of year.
