Thinking of taking a boat out at Rutland sometime this week. Heard that there's quite a few fish down the North arm at the mo. Anyone know how it's fishing, what flies are working etc?

It was tough yesterday. Very breezy in the morning and bright sun, wind calmed a bit after 1 ish. Hardly saw a fish all day and only boated 2 between us. The wind had stirred up a lot of mud which made it harder. My boat partner knows his stuff (I fish the bank almost exclusively) and we went everywhere (Appletons and Hideaway Bay!) trying to find fish. It has fished well though, and there were only 10 boats out yesterday so not really enough to get real feel about what's going on. The bank is fishing well early and late, late especially.

The wind has changed, and this rain may change the whole situation. About 2,500 fish were stocked late last week...Your best bet will be to ask the wardens when you get there as there is no telling what it will be like in advance at the moment.
