Default Last night on Carron valley

My 1st visit this year due to being to busy

SANA comp on so car park heaving with anglers and fish

Warm and initially breezy but the breeze went and the flyin teeth came out in force , covered up and got on with it. 20 mins in and my 1st fish a wee brown of 9inch which took a black hopper. I walked up and down the bit were the gate and layby are past gull island (what a noise they made ). 2 rainbows followed on snatchers which were great fighters and fin perfect very plump to

The gloamin rise was not as good as i hoped as it was a flat calm by then
and what was rising had moved out from the shore a bit far for my casting

Scenery awesome , Fraser and co welcoming and at 19 quid for 5>11pm value for money

Mick

Default caron Valley Update 22 June

Fishing has been mainly on drys and buzzers of late, even in the recent glorious weather. Evening rises have been nothing short of superb and a sight to behold. Bank fishing tends to be better than boats in the evening.

Loch ordie, bibio hopper, daddies have been the most succesful although traditional wets have been working well. At the moment the smaller flies are doing better. Some huge fish have came off lately, including a 14lb rainbow and 7lb 2oz brownie!

Some recent catches:

M Walker - 7 for 14lb 3oz + returns
A Everitt & J McBride - 10 for 27lb 3oz + 5 returned (Heaviest 8lb 12oz)
A Donaghy - 5 for 20lb + 1 returned

Cowdenbeath AC - 39 for 73lb
Bothwell & Blantyre AC - 28 for 55lb + 10 returned
SANA Youths - 55 Returned
Falkirk - 29 for 52lb
Grizzlecats - 25 for 46lb + 9 returned
