Default Berkshire Trout Waters?

Hi everyone
Need some info on trout fishing in Berkshire. I live in Wokingham, but distance is not a problem.
Cheers Ron

Haywards farm is close by, just of junction 12 of the M4. Standard put and take fishery. Barn Elms is also close to junction 12, a bit more 'scenic' than haywards. PM me if you want more info.

Cheers

Jon

If I lived there I would make Farmoor my regular water - relatively easy for a reservoir and great top of the water fishing in summer. Haven't fished it in the winter.

Hi
Both Haywards farm and Barn Elms are now closed for the winter. According to Trout Fisherman Magazine Felix Farm is open all year & is located in the Wokingham area.
Tele number is 01189 345527. Sorry I can't help with a fishing report its been a while since I fished it.

If you fancy a bit more of a trip out you could try places like Holbury lakes
http://www.holburylakes.co.uk/ or Avon Springs http://www.fishingfly.co.uk/index.html probably worth checking with both before travelling.

Also Sheephouse Fly Fishery is near you in Maidenhead area http://www.sheephousetroutfishery.co.uk/ . It did not get the best of write up's in Today's FlyFisher Magazine Oct 2006. But I have no personally experiences of the fishery. Perhap other forum members do ?

Frensham http://www.fishcountryleisure.com/Welcome.htm as had a make over since I last fished it quite a few years ago. Not sure its open but worth a call and not to bad to access from the Wokingham area.

Rgds Andy

I can very much recommend Avon Springs as a small(ish) still water, Lechlade for big fish and Bushyleaze for tubing. Also Farmoor is good if you want reservoir fishing, very good from the bank.

Barn Elms is OK if you don't mind the M4, Sheephouse is exactly as TF magazine described it, I wouldn't spend my money there and I've never fished at Felix Farm or Haywards farm. Haywards farm always looks a little bleak to me being right in the industrial estate and next to the railway line.

I live in Bracknell and it's an hour to Avon Springs, Bushy/Lechlade and Farmoor, well worth the travel time over the nearby waters IMHO.

It's also only 45 minutes to Dever, Avington or Sutton Springs.
