Took a boat out today on what began as a cold morning.Water is still cold up at this altitude, however still managed 4 fish ,dropped a couple and had enough plucks to keep the intrest up.the day finished up warm and sunny, also had the whole place to myself. Worth a visit.

stuck with the floater but to be fair an intermediate or even a fast glass would have been more succesfull. All fish came to wets and mini whisky flys.2 fish on a doobry. As you say, great condition.

We perseveared with the floaters but changed to slime line and a cortland blue and were far more successful. We had been using black and green.

We went up on a sat, and there was only one guy fishing....on a SAT!!!

The bailiff was really sound and made us coffee and bacon pieces, cant beat that!! He did say that it had been busier but i found it strange, even more so that the fishing was really good!!

Really looking forward to getting back up there soon!!

Steve

Went up yday with some chums from work and we had some great sport....most of us caught our limit on black and green flies of various shapes and sizes. Fishing tailed off a bit in the afternoon but a great place to fish and even just take in the views.

We had the bacon rolls and coffee / tea as well and Terry and his wife couldn't have been nicer and more helpful.

My first time there but will def go back !

Give it a try

dry fly with hoppers or cdc on the summer nights can be fantastic.
