Just for info, it is a pretty fishery with very clear water.

Ridiculously easy, even in a North wind and with a single fly rule. Not great value at £35 for four fish although one or two bigger fish were caught, biggest 4-9 ozs.

White lure, buzzers, damsels, suspender buzzers and a few on dries.

Church Hill fishery used to be a very famous stalking water back in the 1970's & 80's with several big doubles caught every week. It was a favourite place for Pearson, Church & Walker if memory serves.
Seems to have lost the big fish rep now, but at least the place has survived through the years.
Never got around to going there myself. Wonder if it's worth it now?

Yes, Steve, I went there about 30 years ago and it was one of the Avington style venues. Not now though - very pleasant and very clear water, but no lumps.

We do a two fish limit for each of morning and afternoon and I got about 30-40 minutes fishing in total. Still 10 minutes more than last year
