Default Carron Valley

After spending the last four days on Carron i have to say without doubt this loch has everything an angler could want ,great scenery ,abundant wildlife, great rainbows and the best looking natural brown trout i have seen in years.Over the 4 days i have seen Bows to 10lb and 3inch browns,Ospreys overhead ,The fish are hard fighting and thats the 3inch browns ,All joking aside i must recommend Carron highly,On sunday morning i left home after scraping ice of windscreen and then watched Changeboy take 4 rainbows on Drys at carron before i got an offer A big thankyou to Ian and Fraser for the great work they have put in and the hospitality shown to anglersSo guys well worth a visit

think its time i paid a visit to carron valley myself , im ashamed to say i have not been there since they started stocking bows ! at first i didnt agree with the new policy as we didnt have many good browns only waters left , but since the rainbows went in i have heard nothing but glowing reports from the place . think its time i found out for myself !!

Steveo dont mention Powan i must have had a dozen on Sunday ,They do like buzzersThey are turning up a lot more now in catches you hear guys moaning in the car parkOne guy in tuesdays prelim estimated he had caught 20 powan but still managed to get through ,His mates gave him a new nickname the POWANATOR,I will put up with them when you don`t know if your next offer could be a 6lb bar o silver

I have also also just spent a lot of time on Carron. Bows up to 11ib and Browns up to 15oz, with the odd Powan. Fantastic settings only ruined by some bad singing on Tuesday
