Hi, where were you fishing?

I was out there a couple of years ago fishing for bows among the bears on the Moraine river. Fantastic fishing using pink bead egg patterns with brown bears crashing past us to take sockeye. I found the rainbow fishing much better than the salmon fishing, the salmon were just too easy!

We were on the Tal and side streams. For me the rainbow fishing was the best part as the salmon were as you said easy. Still great though catching them.No complaints hooking into silvers all day long.

Ahhhhh, fresh Silver Salmon! Were you surface fishing for the fellows? The surface 'Wog' rules ... but do go to the bathroom first as the strikes are usually savage.

Those wild fish are truly beautiful. Pristine nature and wild fish is where I want to grow old.

We fished poppers for the silvers, that was really exciting watching them bowwaving at the fly. For strength though I think the rainbows have it, some fantastic runs downstream and some size of fish, the ones that run up from the lakes to gorge on the sockeye eggs.

I was just wondering Ten to One how you managed to sneak Alaskan rainbow into stillwater forum, I can't think of fishing further removed from stillwater than an Alaskan river Cracking photo by the way.

The water i caught it in was very still. Hands up a wee error. Where should it go?Most of our silvers took pink polywogs, some on pink streamers. The sockeyes took egg patterns and the odd streamer.
