Default CROSSWOOD CROSSEDWIRES

I booked a boat on CROSSWOOD ,LOTHIAN for the first time for SATURDAY and when me and my uncle arrived it was blowing quite hard and for those that know CROSSWOOD its quite open so quickly i made up my mind to do a few drifts with the drogue out and find my feet so to speak. When i asked the fella about outboards he said you have to phone up and book it 2 days before so it can be charged up. I just looked at him and didnt want to believe him? Now i must stress the guy was really nice and understanding and i WILL certainly give it a go BUT surely when someone phones for a boat this should be mentioned at the time. I may be wrong but i dont think it says it on the website either.I travelled all the way from DUMFRIES AND GALLOWAY and was absolutely gutted. Thankfully there was a warm cuppa and a smile from MARGO at ALLANDALE so the day wasnt too bad. Look forward to a day at CROSSWOOD and i might add this isnt a slur on the fishery just a note of caution for any other unsuspecting angler thats not fished it before. tightlines all

Ive just had a PM from a rather irate CROSSWOOD fan who tells me SCOTT from the fishery isnt happy with my POST? Well i do apologise and if ive offended SCOTT who i presume was the fella i was speaking to on the day BUT i was only pointing out to other anglers and CROSSWOOD about the reason for me not being able to fish it. I never meant to belittle the fishery and in my post i said as much. Sometimes i wonder why i bother

Default Managing Directors reply to Mr Gallagher's comments dated 3rd May.

Mr Gallagher, Scott was perfectly correct in drawing your attention to the fishery website where it clearly states that all engines must be pre-booked at the time of booking a boat. The onus is on the angler to book an engine if required, and Scott advised you the engines were booked out on Friday and were not charged for Saturday. At the time of your booking you never requested an engine.

You claimed to have "done a few drifts with the drogue". I strongly refute this claim as Scott advised me that you left the fishery without even venturing on the water.

I don't see why this should be heading the way it is! wileybugger said nothing wrong IMHO and only pre-warned any intending fishers of the need to pre-book the motor for the boat.

He never said they were this and that, only a very pleasant way of warning other users. No need to get upset on that I wouldn't have thought?

I have met Willey, and he is a top class decent bloke, and there would be no malice in his post, he was only trying to be helpful.
