Default Woodford

Well second day out this year and back to Woodford. After a natter with Darren the owner and some advice on whats working i started with a greentag as usual but soon found out Darren was right to start with buzzer as boys were catching on them....so changed to new buzzer with pink butt and caught my first of the day.

The fish seemed to be up and down and things were slow but did get another one on suspender buzzer, no pic though as was tangled in leader and got away as i untangled it b4 i could take pic.Headed for fry at 12.30 yummy....after the feed only had one more on an orange lure as fish seemed to have switched off 3hrs.So headed to hut for some drinks (coke).....anyhow said to Darren i had nout on greentags and he said its too early in the year.Well i had a tin of coke and a smoke...then on with my greentags, green peter one on point and black one on dropper both ginked up and i hooked 12 and landed another 9 in the next hour or so.....too early Darren for me greentags

Some more pics.

Looks like you had a good day Geordie. The fish look in prime condition and fins perfect from the pictures.
Do you think they could be wild rainbows which have bred on?

Glad you had a good day.

Has one of them got 2 blobs in its mouth?

Aye joni....as you see with buzzer and orange lure the fish were playing hard to get and i had to revert to dodgy tactics.....anyhow when they came to the surface they were doomed with my greentags

Aye Kevin very silver fish and may have came in from river were they grew up with sea-trout as when i hooked them they leaped and performed just like sea-trout....great sport and i forgot for a while i was on a stocked water

No blobs mate but needed this as fish were deep early on.

yep they are bonny fish, nobody would (or should) complain at catching fish like that.Quality.
It was picture 3 that I thought there was a blob and another fly in it,which was why I asked ,I was curious.
This is whats its all about a good day out fishing.

Well i didnt mind only having 3 fish but they did come to the surface and it was great to have them on dries.....think im getting quite good at releasing in water with no net at Woodford as i can reach down in most places.....was good to be out
