Default Hazelcopse 21/4/10

Dropped the wife off at work and headed off down to Hazelcopse
Cool breeze all day, sunny and reasonably warm.
Started off on far lake in corner swim.Soon had interest in buzzers and managed a reasonably quick fish. After a slow spell a change to montana fished slow and deep produced two lost fish and two banked plus a lot of taps.Moving around produced more taps and nips and another two fish lost.
Ended up on first pool for an hour before packing up to collect the wife, managed three more all on damsel again fished slow and deep plus some taps.
Quite a lot of bank clearance and island on far lake has been thinned right out so it all looked a bit barren-more so than usual, however for £15,one fish and c/r it aint bad.
All fish fought really well, nothing of any size-2-2.5lb or so.

Had a 9lb 7oz fish out from the far lake a couple of week's ago. I made damn certain it went back safe & sound.
Wilf saw the whole thing from his front room. Doesn't miss a trick that guy!

Would be nice to meet with some forum folk at Hazel Copse.
I go quite often now so chances are we've already fished together.

I wouldnt be suprised if one of you helped my chum Steve there last Friday. Someone was doing well on buzzers and helped Steve out with rigging them up on his line.

He says he got a good haul of fish after that so thank you to who ever it was.

I do like Hazelcopse but it is not the prettiest fisher I have ever come across just a bit far from Essex for me nowadays but was perfect when i lived in Guildford and then when I moved near to gatwick!

I recall twice when I have hooked into something that I simply couldnt hold and sadly the hook pulled on both occasions leaving me with a drop jaw and bug-eye appearance Must have been back when Wilf had those massive salmon in there.
