Fished it twice this season, opening day and Monday. On OD I had 3. All were in good nick but perhaps 2 of them came in quite easily. Obviously these were newly stocked fish who hadn't got going. They were probably in a few days at best due to the ice problems in March. The fish I had on Monday all went like trains having had the few weeks in the water.
The quality of the fish this year is if anything better and the average weight seems to be nearer 2 1/2 lbs.
I also filleted five last Sunday for my mate and they were also top quality and again his 5 were nearly 12lbs not a mark on any of them or a ragged tail in sight.
I take on borad your opinion but it is different to what I have saw so far this season. There were also no complaints from the members of my club on opening day. The vast majority are regular and seasoned anglers on Carron due to it's close proximity to us.
On Monday I did well in Burnhouse on an intermediate with a black and green weighted damsel. Carron Bay was alright. Tree Bay hard going and Bin Bay a waste of time for some unknown reason. The sun was quite warm then though.
