Default Recommendations near Epsom ?

Hi there, I'm going to be working down in Epsom for a bit, can anyone recommend any decent still waters in the area?

Thanks

Paul

hello Paul

I live near Epsom and the nearest one is the 3 lakes at Albury, have a look at the website, just google Albury Estate Fisheries and it will come up. There are a few you can reach within an hours drive, Hazel Copse, Coltsford Mill, Frensham, even Meon Springs is not that far away. Have fished all the above so more than willing to give you any info I have gleaned.

All the best

Andy

I like the look of Albury - looks like Powder Mills, Vale End and Weston are the day fisheries - might well give it a go this week (probably vale end as it looks quite varied)

Presumably you can purchase day tickets at each of the lakes or do you need to go to the main fishery?

All you have to do is turn up at which ever one you chose and the baliff comes round and takes your money. The ticketing system allows you to use them at a later date if you have any left over, although you have to have at least 4. I've got a season ticket so I dont have to worry about that.

Best tip I can give you about the place is it is best to keep moving around if you have no joy, it's not usually too crowded, last Sunday there were just 3 of us on Powdermills till I left about 1.00pm, Vale End is usually busier, but never turned up and could not find any room.

Best of luck, let me know how you get on, not there myself this weekend otherwise would have suggested meeting up, nothing like a bit of local knowledge.

All the best

A fair choice of waters around this area.
Albury,as suggested is as good as any. However i feel that £ 42 for four fish is getting a tad expensive and at Powdermills it will cost you £42 for two.It does have the advantage of ticket rollovers in the event of either blanking or not reaching your limit. If its your first visit it will be an extra £2 on top of those prices. It can be stupidly easy though,so be prepared to buy further tickets to continue fishing.
Hazelcopse down at Rudgwick,a tad further on than Albury is £15,one fish and c/r.Small pools but usually good fishing.Probably best midweek.
Coltsford Mill down at Godstone is catch and kill on two lakes, think its around £35 for four fish.
Halliford Mere over at Shepperton is c/r at £20 per day and is fishing very well at present.

plenty of choice here
